Meet the Team Behind Metta+Moxie
Women-owned. Mother-led. Heart-centered.
Metta+Moxie is more than just a therapy practice—it’s a collective created by women, built by dedicated professionals + mothers, and sustained by a shared commitment for deep, authentic healing.
We are a team of female licensed clinicians who know, both professionally and personally, what it means to hold space for others while navigating the many layers of life ourselves. As women and as mothers, we bring a lived understanding of resilience, emotional labor, and the powerful need for community care.
We’ve come together not only to provide expert clinical services—but to create something bigger:
A space where healing feels accessible, where being vulnerable is safe, and where connection grows into community. Where everyone who enters through our doors is seen, heard, and abundantly cared for.
Every offering at Metta+Moxie—from therapy sessions to retreats and studio gatherings—is rooted in our belief that connection heals, embodiment matters, and that women supporting women can transform lives.
Together, we’re redefining what healing spaces can look and feel like—for women, by women. At Metta+Moxie, we believe in the power of showing up for one another—with purpose, with heart, and with grit. With Metta and with Moxie.
Meet Jess.
Owner of Metta+Moxie, LMSW, RYT-200
Jess Jarrard is a licensed social worker and trauma-informed yoga teacher based in Metro Detroit, with a deep passion for helping women reconnect with their sense of self. Her clinical work draws from a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, and Interpersonal Therapy, creating a grounded, integrative approach to healing.
Jess holds certifications in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Perinatal Mood Disorders through Postpartum Support International. Her work is especially informed by a commitment to supporting women navigating identity loss, loneliness, and self-worth challenges—often in life stages marked by transition, motherhood, or grief.
As a seasoned yoga teacher, Jess received her foundational training at the Center for Yoga and is certified through LifePower Yoga. She is trained in ashtanga/vinyasa principles, pre/postnatal yoga, somatic movement, and trauma-informed practices. In both her clinical and movement work, she honors the body as a key partner in the healing process, often integrating somatic techniques into therapy to support deeper emotional access and integration.
Her mantra—“Come as you are”—guides each session. Jess creates a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and cared for. She believes every woman carries a unique light within, and by allowing that light to shine, she empowers others to do the same.
